Are your bartenders certified?
All our bartenders are T.I.P.S. certified, a program required by the State of Michigan.
Do you carry liquor liability insurance?
Yes, Liquor liability insurance is included with the bar services, a copy of our policy is available upon request.
Can we provide our own alcohol?
In accordance with the Michigan Liquor Control Commission, ALL alcohol consumed on the premises must be provided by The Bar & Tender. The Bar & Tender representatives will remove any outside product and dispose of it. Repeated violations will result in a fee and or termination of beverage services.
Can I rent a bartender from you?
We offer complete bar services only.
How will bar tenders be dressed?
All tenders will be wearing all black with a logo’ d apron.
Is gratuity included?
We do not have an additional gratuity added. Our gratuity policy is: It’s not required, but much appreciated. Our team truly loves what they do and we want that to shine through in your event services.
What if I don’t want to tip jar out on the bar?
We can accommodate, let us know your wishes, and will make arrangements to take care of the bartending staff.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel the event with The Bar & Tender, ALL deposits are non-refundable. In the instance an event is cancelled within two weeks of the event, The Bar & Tender, at it’s discretion, may require event payment in full. Events cancelled within 7 days will be charged the full balance. Refunds of any kind and application of deposits paid to a future event will be at the sole discretion of The Bar & Tender.
Which forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit & checks.
How many bartenders do I need for my event?
We will help recommend the perfect about of bar tenders to keep your guest satisfied and the drinks flowing! We estimate about 1 bar tender per 75 guests.
What’s included in your service packages?
All mixers (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Orange Juice, Cranberry Juice, Tonic, Club soda, all bar garnishes & supplies along with plasticware. For glassware, we will provide all items necessary for selected services; additional fees apply.
Are we able to customize the packages?
Yes! Our team would be happy to adjust the current packages to find the perfect beverage menu for your event, additional cost may apply.
Do you have any minimums?
We will service any size event! If the guest count is under 100, additional labor & service charges will apply.
I’m not quite sure what I want, can you give me an estimate for services?
Our team would be happy to provide you with a generic quote for you to review and make adjustments to until we find the perfect beverage menu for your event.
What is your travel/destination fee?
We will travel up to 40 miles, roughly a 1-hour radius from our Grand Rapids location. Delivery is $100 within radius. If you desire to have services that are outside this area, let’s talk!
How do I reserve my date with Bar and Tender?
A signed contract and a non-refundable deposit of 25% of total quoted services is required to reserve your event date. A second non-refundable payment of twenty-five (25) percent of the total quoted services will be due 60-days prior to the day of the event. The final balance is required no later than seven (7) days prior to your event. In the event that the final payment is not received by seven (7) days prior to your event, final payment MUST then be made with a credit card (credit card processing fees will be added to the remaining balance), cashier’s check, money order or cash; we will NOT accept checks for payments made within seven (7) days of your event.
